April Activity Calendar 2024

Cornerstone is introducing ‘Topics of the Day’ on Wednesdays and Thursdays. These topics are chosen based on conversations staff members have heard in the centre and pressing issues in today’s society.

Please note that Cornerstones Winter Cohort has officially started. New applications are still welcome! If your youth would like to join the Cornerstone Cohort please fill in the application (which can be found in the monthly newsletter) and wait for a staff member to get back to you.

Working With Youth

Our programs are based on the 40 developmental assets, which is a framework created by the Search Institute. The external assets focus on the relationships and opportunities they need in their families, schools, and communities, while the internal assets focus on the social-emotional strengths, values, and commitments that are nurtured within young people. The more assets a youth gains, the less likely they are to engage in risky behaviours, including substance use, gang involvement, school incompletion.

Youth Working With US

The programs at Cornerstone Youth Centre are designed to act as a preventative measure to build youth resiliency, encourage responsibility, and the capacity to make healthy choices once outside of the centre.
